Virginia Housing Alliance

About the Virginia Housing Alliance

Tracing its roots to the 1980’s, Virginia Housing Alliance (VHA) has a strong track record of advocating for the expansion of housing opportunities, educating the public about housing challenges in Virginia, and helping to build the organizational capacity of housing nonprofits across the state. Working with their members and national partners, VHA’s team develops forward-looking solutions to address housing affordability and end homelessness.

VHA’s Focus Areas:

  • Advocacy: developing and promoting a legislative and policy agenda that addresses State and Federal housing and homelessness issues.
  • Education: conferences, learning collaboratives, and the implementation of a new Virginia HELP (Housing Education Learning Partnership).
  • Capacity building: sustainably building the organizational capacity of housing nonprofits across the state through VHA’s Americorps Vista program.
